RHAPSODY OF REALITIES SATURDAY, 25TH MARCH., Pastor Chris
TOPIC: ✨MEMBERS OF HIS BODY.✨
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid (1 Corinthians 6:15).
In the opening verse, notice that the Apostle Paul used the plural noun “bodies.” He was writing to the Church at Corinth. If he had used the singular noun “body,” it would have seemed right to argue that he was speaking in generic terms, referring to all of us as “the body of Christ”; that is, the mystical body of Christ as referenced in Romans 12:5: “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”
He however expresses a profound truth about our individual connection and oneness with Jesus Christ by saying, “…your bodies are the members of Christ….” This is a most powerful truth in God’s Word that you can apply for your health. It isn’t only your spirit that is part of the mystical body of Christ, your physical body is a member of Christ! This means Christ uses, rules, and functions in your physical body. If this is true, and it is true, where then would sickness come from? Christ is in you; He perambulates in you. Blessed Be God!
Ephesians 1:22-23 says “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him (Jesus Christ) to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” It says the body of Christ—the Church—is the fullness of Christ. And since your very physical body is part of the whole structure called the body of Christ, it means that you’re the expression of His reality, His grace, glory, kingdom, power and personality! You’re the expression of His fullness: He is your completeness, but without you, the body isn’t complete.
Every one of us is important in the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27: “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” He uses the term “members in particular, showing that each one is important in the structure. Ephesians 5:30 declares, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to shed His precious blood and die in my place. In this, I rejoice for His blood was shed for my salvation, soundness, and preservation, to bring me into oneness with you. Thank you for the life of glory and excellence that I have in Christ, and the dominion of your Word in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
